Archery Tag at school: we bring all the equipment

No coach and no trip needed: we run Archery Tag directly at your school, anywhere in Belgium. We arrive with the bows, the rubber-tipped arrows, the full-face masks and inflatable obstacles, and we turn your playground or school gym into a playing field for your pupils, from age 8.

How does an Archery Tag session at school work?

We arrive before the session starts and set up the field in the space you keep for us, the playground or the school gym. The inflatable obstacles provide cover, and the equipment is ready for every player. Pupils have nothing to carry or prepare. They simply come in sportswear, as they would for a PE lesson.

The game opens with a safety briefing and a short shooting introduction, then the teams face each other in short rounds, with changing scenarios to keep the game lively. Our instructors referee from start to finish and keep the teams balanced. A session usually lasts two hours, but we adapt to your schedule (timetable, breaks, number of classes). The rules of the game are explained in our article on the rules of Archery Tag.

Why do schools choose Archery Tag?

  • Every child finds a role, sporty or not. Some run and dodge, some aim, and some plan the team's strategy.
  • Moving, thinking and playing together. A round is won by talking and covering each other, never alone in a corner.
  • Something out of the ordinary without leaving the school. No transport to arrange, no time lost on the road, no trip permission needed.
  • Fair play at the heart of the game. A player who is hit owns up and steps out, and the re-entry rules bring everyone quickly back into play.

Playground or school gym, how much space is needed?

There is no standard size, since every school has its own playground and every gym its own dimensions. Our inflatable obstacles create the field, and we place them according to the space available. The number of players on the field and the rotation of classes are then matched to what the space allows, so that everyone plays in good conditions.

The easiest way is to describe your playground or gym when you get in touch, with a photo if you have one. The gym has one advantage, as you can play there whatever the weather. The playground, on the other hand, leaves more room to run and suits larger groups.

Is Archery Tag safe for pupils from age 8?

Yes, and it is the first question every head teacher asks. Each player wears a full-face mask for the whole game, the arrows have a wide rubber tip, and the bows have a deliberately limited draw strength, suited to children from age 8. The safety briefing sets the rules before the first arrow, and our instructors enforce them on the field.

An arrow that hits you surprises more than it hurts. The activity is not painful, which is exactly what makes it accessible to pupils who do not like contact sports. To reassure a parent, our article explains in detail why Archery Tag does not hurt.

At school or on our grounds, which option should you choose?

Both options offer the same game, run by the same team. The difference lies in the place, the travel and what surrounds the game. For a full day out in the forest, our guide to the Archery Tag school trip describes a visit to our grounds.

Which regions do we cover?

We travel to schools and centres all over Belgium, in Brussels, Flanders and Wallonia. Sessions are run in English, French or Dutch, depending on your pupils' language. Whether you are a primary school, a secondary school or a centre that looks after children during the holidays, the organisation stays the same. We bring all the equipment and leave the space just as we found it.

How much does an Archery Tag session at school cost?

Every session at school is quoted individually, because it depends on the number of pupils, their age, the length you want and the place. Send us these details through the contact page, with the date you have in mind and a description of your space. We reply with a proposal that fits the school budget, and an invoice in the name of the school or non-profit.

Frequently asked questions from schools

Do we need a large field or a special sports hall?

No. A playground or a school gym is enough. Our inflatable obstacles create the field, and we match the number of players and the rotation of classes to the space available. Simply describe your playground or gym when you contact us, ideally with a photo.

What do pupils need to bring?

Sportswear and suitable shoes, as for a PE lesson. We bring and set up everything else, namely bows, rubber-tipped arrows, full-face masks and inflatable obstacles. Teachers have nothing to prepare apart from the space and the time slot.

Can a pupil excused from sport take part?

They can follow the game from the edge of the field, and our instructors often find them a role, such as helping to referee, keeping score or collecting arrows between rounds. Nobody is left out of the session, even without playing.

Can we come and play on your grounds instead?

Yes. Our 5-hectare forest estate in Bierges (Wavre), near Brussels, welcomes classes and centres, with a spot for a picnic after the game. For large groups, Archery Tag can be combined there with paintball. Both options are requested through the same contact page.

Do you run sessions in Dutch?

Yes. Our instructors give the briefing and referee the game in English, French or Dutch. Mention your pupils' language in your request. We work with Flemish and Brussels schools just as much as with French-speaking ones.
