It is THE question we get on the phone every week. Since we run both activities on the same forest site in Bierges (Wavre), we can answer without bias: here is the honest comparison, criterion by criterion.
The difference in one sentence
Paintball is military-grade adrenaline: markers, paintballs, camouflage, impacts that sting. Archery Tag is the same team-battle spirit, but with bows and rubber-tipped arrows: zero pain, zero stains, and a Robin Hood vibe that wins everyone over.
Does it hurt?
Paintball: a paintball at close range stings, no denying it. The overalls and mask protect you and our instructors enforce safety distances, but the impact is part of the thrill.
Archery Tag: the wide soft rubber tip absorbs the impact. You feel pressure, not pain: no bruise, no mark. If someone in your group is hesitating "because it hurts", Archery Tag removes the objection.
From what age?
- Archery Tag: from age 8, with softer bows and kid-sized protectors.
- Paintball: from age 12 with standard gear, and from age 8 for birthdays thanks to our dedicated kids' field with reduced-power markers and unlimited paintballs.
For groups with young children or very mixed ages, Archery Tag is the easy pick: everyone plays together.

- Team building → Archery Tag is the most inclusive (no pain, no stained clothes before returning to the office); paintball for teams that love intensity.
- Kids' birthday → Archery Tag from age 8, or kids' paintball on its dedicated field: both packages include a 1-hour snack.
- Large group (20+) → why choose? Both activities run on different fields of the same site: book both and rotate teams.

Do paintballs stain clothes?
Our paintballs are biodegradable and their paint washes out, and above all we provide overalls that protect your clothes. At Archery Tag the question does not even arise: there is no paint at all.
