Kids' paintball birthday party near Brussels: the guide

"Mum, for my birthday I want to go paintballing." Good news: it is possible from age 8, on a field reserved for children, with reduced-power gear and full protection. Count on €32 per child for 2 hours of play and 1 hour of snack time, in Bierges (Wavre), 15 minutes from Brussels. Here is how we built our kids' package, and what you should know before booking.

Paintball from age 8, really?

Really, but not with adult gear. Our 8-12 birthday package is built on three adaptations:

• A field entirely dedicated to kids: of our 4 paintball fields, one is reserved for young players. No mixing with adult groups, shorter distances, obstacles at their scale.
• Lighter, reduced-power gear: the impact is greatly softened, comparable to a flick through the overalls.
• Full protection: full-face mask and overalls: the child is covered head to toe. Chest protectors are also available if needed.

Add the age-adapted safety briefing and an instructor on the field from start to finish, refereeing and adjusting the intensity to the group, and you get an activity far better supervised than an afternoon at a trampoline park, in our private 5-hectare wood.

How much does a kids' paintball birthday cost?

€32 per child for 2 hours of play + 1 hour of snack time, package priced for a minimum of 10 children (€320 per group, €25 per extra child), with a perk parents truly appreciate: unlimited paintballs. No surprise extra charge because the troop emptied their hoppers in the first fifteen minutes: everything is included. The prices page has all the details.

A €100 online deposit locks in your slot for good; the balance is paid on site on the day, based on the final number of participants. Use the message field of the booking form to mention the birthday or request your child's favourite scenarios.

How does the afternoon unfold?

1. Welcome and gear: each child receives their overalls, full-face mask and equipment, checked and disinfected after every use, with the instructor's explanations.
2. Kid-friendly briefing: the rules, the distances, the mask that only comes off in the neutral zone, the end-of-round signal: everything is repeated until it sticks.
3. 2 hours of scenarios: capture the flag, attack/defence, protect the VIP (the birthday child, of course), in short rounds with quick returns to play, so nobody sits out for long.
4. 1 hour of snack time at the forest edge: you bring the cake and drinks, the tables are ready.

Sessions start every hour, from 9 am to 6 pm, 7 days a week. Welcome and gearing-up happen before playing time starts: arrive a little early, so the full 2 hours go to the scenarios.

How many children should you invite?

The ideal format sits between 10 and 14 children, with an even number for two equal teams. The package is priced for 10 children (€320); each extra child adds €25. Only 8 or 9 of you? The group pays the equivalent of 10 and the kids' field is privatised for your party. And if a cousin shows up unannounced, no panic: our instructors rebalance the teams during the afternoon.

What if it rains on the big day?

We simply play. The field is open all year round, 7 days a week, and normal rain cancels nothing: the forest blocks a good share of the drops, the overalls do the rest. The ground can get slippery in wet weather, hence the closed, supportive shoes. Snack time happens in our sheltered area: the cake stays dry whatever the sky does. The only exception is genuinely dangerous conditions (thunderstorm, gale, black ice): in that case we move the session to another slot, free of charge. Winter is no exception either: the field keeps running through the Christmas and Carnival holidays.

Paintball or Archery Tag for a birthday?

A question parents often ask. Our compass after dozens of birthdays:

• Ages 8-10, mixed group or first-timers → Archery Tag (€30/child): zero impact, zero apprehension, the Robin Hood factor always lands.
• Ages 10-12, action-game fans asking for paintball → kids' paintball: the camouflage immersion and the paint splats, in a controlled setting.

Either way: 2 hours of play, 1 hour of snack time, gear and instructors included, and a child who is the star of the class on Monday.
