Top 8 unusual group activities near Brussels and in Walloon Brabant
Published on 28 May 2026, updated on 1 September 2026 by the Tag Brussels team
The best unusual group activities near Brussels? Forest Archery Tag, paintball, escape rooms, karting, axe throwing, bubble football, outdoor laser tag and city games. Here is our honest comparison, with indicative prices and recommended audiences for a birthday, a stag or hen party or a team building. Yes, we are blowing our own trumpet on two entries (it is our job), but the rest of the ranking is sincere: we have tested everything, or our customers did it for us.
1. Forest Archery Tag: the activity that wins everyone over
The mix of archery and dodgeball, with rubber-tipped arrows: spectacular, pain-free, from age 8. The outdoor forest version (ours is the only one of its kind near Brussels) turns every round into a film scene. From €35/pers., 2 hrs, in Bierges (Wavre): details here. Ideal: mixed groups, stag/hen parties, team-building days, birthdays.
In practice, a session lasts 2 hours: safety briefing, shooting initiation (within about ten minutes, everyone hits a first target), then 5 to 8 rounds of 15 to 20 minutes across 3 or 4 scenarios, from classic elimination to capture the flag. The bows are limited to roughly 12 kg and the arrows are slow enough to dodge on sight: no bruise, no mark. Our marshals stay on the field from start to finish and rebalance the teams every round: mixed levels are never a problem.
2. Forest paintball: the classic that never disappoints
The adrenaline of camouflage and splattering paintballs: on real wooded fields with terrain and natural obstacles, paintball remains the group-outing benchmark. From €35/pers. (300 paintballs), from age 12, and from age 8 for birthdays on a dedicated kids' field: details here. Ideal: stag parties, groups of friends, teams that love intensity.
On our Bierges site, four wooded paintball fields each offer a different setting, one of them reserved for children: dense undergrowth, clearings, barricades and natural obstacles. The paintballs are biodegradable (gelatine shell, paint made from food-grade colourings) and the overalls we provide protect your clothes: you leave clean. The full kit weighs under 2 kg and is tuned before every session. BASIC comes with 300 paintballs, PRO with 500, and from 15 players everyone gets 100 free paintballs.
3. Escape rooms: for the thinkers
Brussels is packed with rooms for teams of 3 to 6 (expect €25-35/pers. for 60 minutes). Perfect in bad weather and for small groups; less suited to 15+, who must be split over several rooms.
4. Karting: for speed demons
Indoor or outdoor around Brussels, roughly €25-45 for 15-20 minutes of track time. Guaranteed thrills, but actual driving time is short and lighter drivers have the edge: plan a race format with multiple sessions for groups.
5. Axe throwing: the viral one
Cathartic and photogenic (€20-30/pers. per hour). But you throw one at a time: for a group of 15, that is a lot of spectators. Excellent as a side dish rather than the main course.
6. Bubble football: the guaranteed giggle
Football in inflatable bubbles: ten minutes of guaranteed laughter (around €20-25/pers.). The effect wears off after 45 minutes: combine it with something else to fill an afternoon.
7. Outdoor laser tag: the compromise
The paintball principle without the paintballs: no impact at all, but also less at stake (you cannot feel a "hit"). A good option for very young groups: from age 8, Archery Tag offers more sensation for the same audience.
8. City games: the sightseeing pick
Urban rallies and treasure hunts in central Brussels (€15-25/pers.): perfect for showing the city to international colleagues, more cultural than sporty. Weather-dependent, like us, but with no forest to shelter under.
Which activity should you pick for your group?
| Your situation | Our recommendation |

| Stag party of thrill-seekers | Paintball (+ Archery Tag combo) |
| Birthday, ages 8-12 | Archery Tag or kids' paintball |
| Team building with a barbecue budget | Archery Tag ALL-IN |
| Small group of 4-6 | Escape room or axe throwing |
| Pouring rain and a group that feels the cold | Escape room (or embrace the mud with us) |
How much does a group activity near Brussels cost?
For 2 hours of supervised play, expect €35 per player for both Archery Tag and paintball, equipment, supervision and game-mastering included, with no extras. The ALL-IN packages add 1 hour of barbecue (3 kinds of meat) for €55 for Archery Tag and €65 for paintball, and prices drop from 15 players. The other activities in this ranking sit between €15 and €45 per person, often for less than an hour of actual play. Our full price list is public: a €100 deposit locks in the slot for good, the balance is paid on site.
What if it rains on the day?
On our field, we play in all reasonable weather, rain and snow included: the forest blocks a good share of the rain and the overalls do the rest. The snack and barbecue area is covered, so the cake and the grill stay dry. The only exception is genuinely dangerous conditions (thunderstorm, gale, black ice): the session is then moved free of charge to another slot. If your group flatly refuses mud, escape rooms and axe throwing are played under cover: that is their real advantage over us.
How do you organise your group outing without stress?
Our venue is open 7 days a week with hourly start times from 9 am to 6 pm, Sundays and public holidays included. Booking is done online up to 18 hours before the slot, with instant confirmation; on the day, everyone can pay their own share on site, handy for a stag party. Above 20 people, book 1 to 2 weeks ahead, especially for a Friday. To dig deeper, read our stag and hen party guide near Brussels or our team building formats by group size.

Book my activityFrequently asked questions
Which group activity for 20 people or more?
Favour activities where everyone plays at once: Archery Tag, paintball or a city game. Turn-based activities (karting, axe throwing) leave too many people waiting beyond 12 participants.
What is the cheapest activity per person?
City games and bubble football start around €15-20. In value per minute played, Archery Tag and paintball offer 2 hours of supervised activity for €35, gear included: hard to beat.
Can a group activity be organised on a Sunday?
With us, yes: the venue is open 7 days a week from 9 am to 6 pm, Sundays and public holidays included, with online booking and instant confirmation.
Do you need to be sporty to join these activities?
No. In Archery Tag and paintball alike, no experience or particular fitness is required: the pace adapts to the group and the breaks between rounds leave time to catch your breath. On the field, lighter players are actually the hardest to hit. Karting and bubble football ask for a bit more energy; an escape room, none at all.
How far in advance should you book?
For a small group, online booking stays open until 18 hours before the slot, with instant confirmation. Above 20 people, allow 1 to 2 weeks, especially for a Friday. Winter slots are the quietest and most flexible of the year: perfect for a last-minute plan.
